LOVE: The Power Of Ho’oponopono

Have you heard of the Hawaiian doctor who cured an entire ward of criminally insane patients, without ever meeting any of them, or spending a moment in the same room with them? The therapist was Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len. He reviewed each of the patients’ files, and then he healed them by healing himself. The amazing results may seem like a miracle, but then miracles do happen when you use Ho’oponopono. Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len’s has created an updated version of Ho’oponopono called, Self I-Dentity Through Ho’oponopono (SITH). The results are often astounding.

You might be a bit skeptical and wonder how this could possibly work. How could you heal yourself and then have that heal others? How could this possibly change anything and why would it affect anything “out there”? The secret is that in reality, there is no such thing as “out there” – everything happens to us in our mind.

Everything we see, hear, every person we meet, we experience in our mind. We only think it’s “out there,” and therefore, we make the assumption that this “fact” absolves us of any responsibility. However, it’s quite the opposite: we are responsible for everything we think, and everything that comes to our attention. This means that we are also able to clear it, clean it, and through forgiveness, actually change it.

There are four simple steps to this method of Ho’oponopono. The order of how you say them is not important. The best part of Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len’s the updated version of Ho’oponopono is that we can do it ourselves, we don’t need anyone else to be there, and we don’t need anyone to hear us. We can just “say” the words in our head, or out loud.

The power that is activated by the Hoʻoponopono prayer is in the feeling of being willing to both forgive and love. The forces of Repentance, Forgiveness, Gratitude and Love are the only forces at work – but these forces have amazing power. Hoʻoponopono (ho-o-pono-pono) has four steps:

“I’m Sorry. Please Forgive Me. Thank You. I Love You.”

The Four Steps of Hoʻoponopono:

Step 1: (Repentance) – I’m Sorry

Whatever needs healing in your life, be it yourself, a person, a family issue you would like to resolve, first we need to acknowledge this by saying the words, “I’m sorry.”

Step 2: (Ask Forgiveness) – Please Forgive Me.

Don’t worry about who you’re asking. Just ask! PLEASE FORGIVE ME. Say it over and over. Mean it. Remember your remorse from step 1 as you ask to be forgiven.

Step 3: (Gratitude) – Thank You.

Say the words, “Thank You.” It doesn’t really matter who or what you’re thanking. Thank your body for all it does for you. Thank yourself for being the best you can be. Thank God. Thank the Universe. Just keep saying, “Thank You.”

Step 4: (Love) – I Love You.

Say “I Love You.” You can direct this “I Love You” to your body, to God, to Mother Earth, to the life giving air you breathe, to the house that shelters you, to your current challenges, to life itself,. Say it over and over. Mean it. Feel it. There is nothing as powerful as Love.

From Me To You:

That’s the whole Ho’oponopono practice in a nutshell. It is simple and also amazingly effective. I have seen miracles happen as a result of this prayer in both my life and in the lives of others. Again, there is nothing as powerful as Love.
