Pain and suffering are a part of all of our lives. Whenever I am in pain, confused, or feel lost, I’ve adopted an approach where I ask my Self, “Please help me see this in a different way.” I trust that my inner guidance will bring me a new perspective and direction.
Rumi, the Sufi Poet tells us, “Every need brings in what’s needed. Pain bears its cure like a child.”
No matter what happens in your life, and no matter what you are struggling with right now, ask yourself,
How can I transform this situation into an opportunity to grow and learn?
How can I see and embrace this moment in a new way?
When we adopt this more open hearted approach toward pain and suffering, we don’t fight our suffering or the inevitable changes that come into our lives.
Instead a sense of spaciousness enters into our hearts and minds.
Out of this spacious openness, we discover new ideas and options we can consider, and out of those we see new directions that we can take.
Trust your inner guidance always. It will always lead you where you need to be, where you need to go and what you need to do next.
